In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centres (Delivery Centres), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Your role and responsibilities:

A Quality Engineer with Test Management expertise specializes in overseeing testing for projects and applications. They are responsible for understanding client requirements, preparing a test strategy, estimating effort and time, identifying dependencies, building a technical execution plan, and reporting status to management and clients. The role also includes directing and working alongside a team to develop optimized test scenarios, create models and BDD test cases, automate tests, execute test cases, resolve technical issues, manage the defect cycle, mentor team members, and provide technical direction. This role requires a strong foundation in core testing, technical testing, business domain knowledge, and testing methodologies, as well as excellent team management and project management skills.

Required education: None

Preferred education: Bachelor’s Degree

Required technical and professional expertise:

  • Technical proficiency in the specific COTS products being refreshed.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and processes.
  • Experience with test planning, test case design and test execution.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/scrum methodologies.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools and processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with development teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance testing.
  • Experience with API testing and integration testing.
  • Knowledge of security testing and vulnerability assessment.
