We're looking for Trainee Poultry Butchers to join the team at our Hollybank site in Scropton, Derbyshire. No experience necessary, full training provided over an initial 6-month period and continuous further development.

Working Hours: Tuesday – Saturday 06:00 – 15:00
As a Trainee Poultry Butcher you’ll be working through a training plan with a dedicated Butchery Support Coordinator, gaining knowledge, skills and confidence to portion, debone and prepare turkey and turkey products in a factory environment. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf life products where hygiene standards are critical.
Key responsibilities:
- Training to use a knife to trim, cut and portion turkey products
- Achieving agreed quality standards relating to temperature, preparation, presentation and measurements
- Ensuring consistency in product quality, meeting customer specifications
- Manual handling which can include lifting equipment and products up to 25kg
- Helping minimise downtime of equipment through correct set up and change over of lines
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Good level of English and basic numeracy skills
- A genuine interest in learning a new skill and developing in the role
- The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
- Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
- Previous experience using a knife to portion meat could be helpful, but not essential
