About the Role

We are looking for a highly competent and motivated Occupational Health Technician to join our team at our Telford site. The role is office-based, 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday 08:00‑16:30 with some flexibility to cover night shifts. Flexibility and twilight/night shift work is required to support the teams across the site, with a shift allowance (T&C’s apply). Travel to other Avara locations, including overnight stays, may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain knowledge of job roles and equipment within Avara to implement appropriate health surveillance testing.
  • Carry out new starter assessments on day one, week 6 and week 12, and ongoing health surveillance in line with HSE guidelines.
  • Deliver, record, analyse and interpret health surveillance results.
  • Provide fitness‑to‑work advice tailored to employees and business needs.
  • Signpost and support employees in accessing company benefits that support their health and welfare.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date employee records to remain audit‑ready at all times.
  • Support the delivery of health and wellness promotions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience working in a clinical or health & wellbeing sector.
  • Bilingual or multilingual is advantageous due to our diverse workforce.
  • Experience managing or supporting a team.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • IT literate.
  • Full driving licence.
