Avara Foods is one of the UK’s leading food businesses, supplying chicken and turkey to the country’s major supermarkets and well-known restaurants. We own and manage our entire supply chain, from farms to factory and all the way to the customer door – meaning we have careers that cover a whole range of functions. A little about our Wednesbury site: Our advanced manufacturing site in Wednesbury, West Midlands, is our newest advanced manufacturing site, and we’ve invested around £4.7 million into state-of-the-art facilities. Our Wednesbury site is a flagship Added Value centre for Avara, which employs over 150 talented individuals at the site, who help to supply some of the UK’s largest supermarkets and popular restaurants!

About the role: As a Process Leader you’ll help manage the production processes and production staff in order to meet Safety, Quality, Training, Productivity and Cost targets set by the Company, consistently and cost-effectively. You’ll be a Key Player in the Production Department, helping drive and manage your production line in order to meet the customer needs to the required quality and safety standards for Avara Foods.
- Organising and motivating production staff to ensure they are working to their full potential and the operation is effectively staffed.
- Responsibility for ensuring that all staff including new staff are trained and developed appropriately and that relevant documentation is completed.
- Achieving agreed quality standards and ensuring the product is consistently produced to the agreed standard and specification.
- Continuously developing and improving upon production processes and being motivated in implementing new initiatives.
- Ensuring KPI data is monitored and completed and reporting daily performance in the KPI meeting.
- Escalating issues in a timely way through key personnel to include production schedulers.
- Planning daily board and rota for staff.
- Ensuring staffing issues are dealt with effectively, consistently and fairly.

- Excellent communication skills along with strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Self‑motivated with a positive working attitude
- Reliable and able to form good working relationships
- A practical approach to problem solving
