Working Hours

Week 1: Monday 05:45 – 12:30; Week 2: Tuesday 05:45 – 14:00; Wednesday 05:45 – 14:00; Thursday 05:45 – 14:00; Friday 06:00 – 15:30; Saturday 07:00 – 16:15. 38.5 hours paid per week.

About the Role

To support the Section Manager in managing the despatch processes and despatch staff to meet Safety, Quality, Training, Productivity and Cost targets set by the Company. Responsible for ongoing training of all staff, including new starters, with hygiene, safety and process control as priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and motivate despatch staff to ensure they are working to their full potential and the operation is effectively staffed.
  • Ensure all staff, including new starters, are trained and developed appropriately against approved training plans, skill matrix, SOPs.
  • Maintain, complete and report KPI data daily.
  • Escalate issues in a timely way through key personnel.
  • Ensure staffing issues are dealt with effectively, consistently and fairly.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties, as needed.
  • Maintain full understanding of Warehouse Management systems.
  • Ensure the area is controlled, clean and tidy and aligned with GMP standards.
  • Adhere to health & safety procedures and set standards.
  • Adhere to food hygiene procedures and set standards.
  • Promote Avara Vision and Values.
  • Comply with and promote all Avara policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties within the general scope of the post as required.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Good level of English and basic numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively.
  • Attention to detail and flexible attitude to tasks.
  • Experience within a warehouse/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
