Purpose of the role
The HR & Compliance Officer plays a key part in ensuring our people processes meet the highest ethical, legal, and compliance standards, while supporting recruitment and wider HR operations. You’ll be working in a collaborative and supportive environment, helping to maintain compliance across our workforce and supply chain, while contributing to continuous improvement across HR processes.
Your key responsibilities
- Support Ethical Compliance & Standards: Assist in ensuring that HR practices follow ethical recruitment standards and comply with legal requirements, including diversity, equality, and non-discrimination. Stay informed on the latest compliance and regulatory changes and ensure our record with key partners such as Stronger Together, Responsible Recruitment, and SEDEX are up to date.
- Recruitment & Partner Compliance: Support in ensuring that recruitment agency partners, suppliers, and contractors meet company compliance and ethical standards. Contribute to the onboarding process, ensuring all new starters meet legal and company compliance standards.
- Training & Process Documentation: Assist in maintaining and updating training resources to ensure compliance with both legal requirements and internal standards. Ensure the delivery of human rights and ethics training to ensure HR and relevant employees are informed and comply with the company’s ethical and legal standards.
- Audit Support, Internal Auditing & Data Management: Assist with the preparation of audits by ensuring HR files and records are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible. Help maintain HR data systems, ensuring compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
- Monthly Compliance Checks & Data Integrity: Support ongoing monthly compliance checks across HR operations, ensuring that all necessary welfare conversations are held with employees to monitor well-being and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement Support: Contribute to the improvement of internal HR processes, including recruitment workflows, HR documentation, and employee record-keeping systems.
- Wider HR / Resourcing Support: Provide additional support to the wider HR / Resourcing team to support day-to-day operations or as cover is needed.
