Working Hours: 07:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday

Purpose of the role: To effectively inspect, service and maintain our fleet of trucks and bulk pneumatic discharge trailers which service deliveries out of our mills at Westbury, Wiltshire.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Servicing and inspecting all trailers on a rotational basis.
  • MOT completion.
  • Repairing of trailer fleet and minor repairs to the trucks.
  • Fill out & rectify Defects Trailers & minor Defects on Trucks.
  • Completion of all required paperwork to ensure records are kept accurate & up to date.
  • To fully understand the importance of safe working practices and procedures.
  • Understanding and attainment of both individual and farm targets.
  • Co-operate in the continuous improvement of Avara Foods quality, safety and productivity standards.
  • Ensure that the Health and Safety Policies, Standard Operating Procedures are properly managed and adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that delivery of agreed SLA standards is maintained where appropriate.
  • Other duties within the general scope of the post may be required from time to time.

This is a hands-on role and involves a number of manual processes including lifting equipment in the region of 25kgs.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • Equivalent of City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Engineering.
  • HGV Class 1.
  • Good level of communication and numeracy.
  • Good communication skills specifically at driver level.
  • High level of organisation skills.

Desirable:

  • FLT Licence.
  • Previous experience in a Mill environment.
  • Previous experience or knowledge in poultry or agriculture.
  • Bulk Blowing Trailer experience.
  • Basic welding.
