Our advanced manufacturing site in Wednesbury, West Midlands, is our newest facility. We have invested around £4.7 million in state-of-the-art facilities. The Wednesbury site is a flagship Added Value centre for Avara, employing over 150 staff who help supply some of the UK’s largest supermarkets and popular restaurants.
Are you an experienced Materiel Coordinator with a proven track record in stock management? Do you have experience in an FMCG environment? Do you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing operation? We are an inclusive, forward-thinking business and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Engineering Stores Coordinator to join our Site Operations team, based at our Wednesbury site. The role is site-based, in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment that is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf-life products where hygiene standards are critical. As an Engineering Stores Coordinator, you’ll be working Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 (40 hours a week).
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Site Engineering Stores, managing inventory and ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of parts, materials, and equipment to support engineering operations.
- Maintain accurate stock records using computerized systems.
- Perform regular stock checks and cycle counts.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder as needed.
- Manage obsolete or slow-moving stock.
- Receive and inspect deliveries, verifying against purchase orders.
- Store materials efficiently and safely.
- Issue parts and materials to engineering staff per procedures.
- Keep storage areas organized, clean, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Process requisitions and prepare stock reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits.
- Liaise with suppliers and procurement on deliveries and queries.
- Assist with stocktaking and resolve variances.
What You’ll Need
- Previous stores/warehouse experience (engineering environment preferred).
- Computer literacy with strong organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of engineering components and materials.
- Forklift license or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with CMMS systems.
- Knowledge of stock control principles.
- Understanding of health & safety in warehouse environments.
