A little about our Telford site: Our advanced manufacturing site in Telford is one of our main processing facilities, processing up to 1.5 million birds per week. We’ve recently invested £2.3 million in technology and equipment, making it one of the most advanced food manufacturing facilities in the UK.

About the Role: Are you passionate about Engineering? Looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience or qualifications in Reliability engineering? As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our people across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering Team, based at our Telford site. As a Reliability Engineer, you’ll be working Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00.

What will you be doing as a Reliability Engineer at Avara? As a Reliability Engineer you’ll have Engineering responsibility for an area within the operational environment as the Asset Manager. Monitoring equipment downtime, analysing trends to drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives and projects.

What will your key responsibilities as Reliability Engineer include?

  • Asset Manager, responsible for all equipment in an area
  • Maintain a high level of reliability and availability of factory equipment through an effective planned maintenance regime
  • Responsible for the gathering and analysis of equipment efficiency and downtime in order to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Raising of Planned Maintenance or reactive maintenance jobs for respective area
  • Review of all completed job sheets in respective area
  • Production of downtime data for weekly meetings
  • Lead and support installation and capital projects
  • Communicate and collaborate with other colleagues, suppliers and contractors
  • Understanding of engineering and operational KPI’s and be able to identify areas for improvement
  • Interact with on-shift engineers and other site engineering teams to resolve challenging equipment problems
  • Support the Site Reliability Manager and engineering peers to develop robust weekly and monthly maintenance plans that improve asset availability and equipment performance
  • Coordinate OEM engineer service visits with production and planning teams and scheduling further work that arises from those inspections
  • Oversee equipment calibrations and creation of risk assessment and PPMS to maintain equipment reliability and compliance.

What you’ll need to be successful:

Essential:

  • Engineering Qualification above L3 (Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred, HND/HNC or L3 engineering qualification may be considered dependent on experience)
  • Experience gained from an Engineering Maintenance environment
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Good IT ability (Power BI/Excel)

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of CMMS system (Mainsaver/Spidex)
  • CAD experience
  • Experience in managing projects
