Skilled Operative – Wednesbury

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off, 05:30 – 18:00

About the Role

As a Skilled Operative you will work as part of the Production Team, conducting checks, documenting and recording against company procedures to ensure legal compliance in food manufacturing at the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out finished product weight checks against a scheduled frequency to ensure legal compliance.
  • Carry out label checks against a scheduled frequency to ensure legal compliance.
  • Set up printers, including date coding on pack correctly for each product run, against customer guidelines.
  • Maintain traceability of ingredients, raw material and finished product to ensure product due diligence.
  • Enforce stock control, including managing fixed and WIP stock, reviewing paperwork and identifying any close-to-use-by and out-of-use-by material, and report to the Section Manager.
  • Carry out product temperature checks against a scheduled frequency to ensure legal compliance and due diligence.
  • Check QUID values against declared values on a scheduled frequency to ensure legal compliance.
  • Record all rework reasons for reports produced by the Production Manager.

  • A good level of English and basic numeracy skills.
  • The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively.
  • Good attention to detail and a responsible attitude to tasks.
  • Be self‑motivated and able to work to tight deadlines.
