Pay: £14.25 per hour + 0.13 shift premium
Hours of Work: Rotating Weekly Shift Pattern

Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a dedicated QA Co‑Ordinator to join the Technical team at our Shobdon hatchery. The role focuses on all aspects of hatchery technical and quality operations, including egg quality monitoring, breeder flock fertility, incubation performance, and chick hatch results. You will be responsible for capturing, analysing, and reporting data to monitor and improve overall breeder flock and hatchery performance.
Operating Environment
- Labour‑intensive hatchery environment where hygiene standards are critical
- Approximately 30% office‑based work
- Approximately 70% hatchery/production floor based
- Flexibility required to support weekend cover where necessary
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct physical and bacteriological egg quality assessments
- Monitor egg core temperatures throughout the supply chain (farm to hatchery)
- Assess egg hygiene and fumigation/sanitation effectiveness
- Analyse breeder flock fertility by house
- Review chick hatch performance and investigate incubation losses
- Provide detailed chick quality assessments
- Produce written reports, data analysis, findings, and recommendations for hatchery management
- Monitor hygiene standards across the hatchery
- Report non‑conformances and support corrective actions
- Support investigations and continuous improvement activity
General Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality at all times

- Comply with all health, safety, food safety, and biosecurity procedures
- Ensure food integrity, legality, and quality standards are maintained
- Support training and development culture within the business
- Participate in shift cover and on‑call rotas where required

- Strong ability to collate and analyse data (qualitative and quantitative)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
