About the Role
The Hygiene Section Manager will be based at our Scropton site near Hatton, Derbyshire. The role is factory and office based in a fast‑paced, dynamic FMCG environment that is noisy and refrigerated in some areas. You will lead and support the Hygiene team, which works in shifts to cover factory requirements from 16:00‑06:00, Monday‑Saturday.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage hygiene, coordinate team activities and maintain audit‑ready hygiene standards at all times.
- Provide training and development for the team.
- Ensure all elements of the hygiene service are carried out to the required standards.
- Maintain detailed cleaning instructions and schedules for hygiene activity.
- Conduct COSHH assessments, risk assessments and document safe systems of work.
- Order and maintain levels of cleaning chemicals and equipment in communication with external suppliers.
What You\’ll Need to Be Successful
- Knowledge of hygiene from a hygiene or production background, ideally within the food industry.
- Experience in a FMCG or fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong people‑management skills and confidence in motivating teams.
- General understanding and interest in food hygiene and microbiology.
- A positive and proactive attitude with the confidence to challenge when necessary.
- Hygiene qualifications and/or internal auditor qualifications would be desirable.
