We’re looking for Despatch Operatives to join our Despatch team based at our site at Yazor Road in Hereford!

As a member of the Despatch Nights team, you’ll help to ensure our products reach the correct customer and continue the high quality expected of Avara Foods. Benefits include:

Working Hours
36.67 hours per week, Monday to Friday 2200-0600
The Despatch operative will be responsible for the smooth transition of our product from production lines, ensuring availability for outloads.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Operating pedestrian pallet trucks, scanning product to ensure it is sent to the correct customer, and loading delivery lorries with the correct product.
- Manual handling which may include lifting equipment and products up to 20kg.
- Loading and unloading vehicles using manual handling equipment.
- Being fully aware of all required safety equipment needed to perform tasks and how to use it.
- Carrying out all duties in line with training, food safety, and health and safety guidance.
What We Are Looking For:
- Good communication and numeracy skills - essential.
- An NVQ Level 2 in Food Manufacturing would be desirable.
- Previous experience in a similar role or in the food manufacturing industry would be advantageous.
- A basic food hygiene certificate, a battery-operated truck license, or manual handling training would be desirable.
- Effective organisation & time management skills.
- Full training will be provided.
