About the role:
To support the Section Manager in managing the despatch processes and despatch staff in order to meet Safety, Quality, Training, Productivity and Cost targets set by the Company. You will be responsible for the ongoing training of all staff including new starters to the section. Hygiene, safety and process control are priorities. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic refrigerated warehouse environment where hygiene standards are critical.
Key responsibilities include:
- Organising and motivating despatch staff to ensure they are working to their full potential and the operation is effectively staffed.
- Ensuring that all staff including new starters are trained and developed appropriately against approved training plans, skilled matrix, SOPs.
- Maintaining, completing and reporting KPI data daily.
- Escalating issues in a timely way through key personnel.
- Dealing with staffing issues effectively, consistently and fairly.
- Assisting with general warehouse duties as needed.
- Having a full understanding of our Warehouse Management systems.
- Ensuring the area is controlled, clean and tidy and aligned with our GMP standards.
- Adhering to health & safety procedures and set standards.
- Adhering to food hygiene procedures and set standards.
- Participating and promoting the Avara Vision and Values.
- Complying with and promoting all Avara policies and procedures.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Good level of English and basic numeracy skills.
- The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively.
- Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks.
- Experience within a warehouse/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
