About the role:
To support the Section Manager in managing the despatch processes and despatch staff in order to meet Safety, Quality, Training, Productivity and Cost targets set by the Company. To be responsible for the on-going training of all staff including new starters to the section. Hygiene, safety and process control all being priorities. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf life products where hygiene standards are critical.
A FMCG refrigerated warehouse environment. Organise and motivate despatch staff to ensure they are working to their full potential and the operation is effectively staffed. Responsible for ensuring that all staff including new starters are trained and developed appropriately against approved training plans, skilled matrix, SOP’s. To continually develop and improve upon despatch processes and be motivated in implementing new initiatives. Ensure KPI data is maintained, completed and reported daily. Escalate issues in a timely way through key personnel. Assist in the management of the Company’s Disciplinary and Grievance policies by ensuring information, i.e. witness statements, are collated appropriately. Ensuring staffing issues are dealt with effectively, consistently and fairly.
To assist, on occasion and if needed, with general warehouse duties. To have a full understanding of our Warehouse Management systems. To ensure the area is controlled, clean and tidy and aligned with our GMP standards. Cover for Section Manager in their absence (ensuring KPI data is maintained and work allocation). To give instructions on a daily basis in order to maintain effective processes. To be aware of, understand and adhere to health & safety procedures and set standards. To be aware of, understand and adhere to food hygiene procedures and set standards. To adhere to company rules and regulations. Ensure information is treated as confidential. Participate and promote the Avara Vision and Values. To comply with and promote all Avara policies and procedures. Ensure that the Health and Safety Policies, Standard Operating Procedures are properly managed and adhered to at all times. Ensure that food safety, integrity, legality and quality applies at all times and in all areas of our business. Ensure that delivery of agreed SLA standards is maintained where appropriate. Participate as necessary in appropriate shifts and on-call duty rotas, if applicable. Other duties within the general scope of the post may be required from time to time. The duties of the post and job description will be regularly reviewed by the line manager.

- Experience within a warehouse/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
