So you’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf life products where hygiene standards are critical. Duties include : • Weighing, assembling and packing products ready for despatch. • Labelling and grading of products • Manual handling which can include lifting equipment and products up to 20kg What you’ll need to be successful: • Good level of English and basic numeracy skills • The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively • Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks • Experience within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided You may not have heard of us, but there’s a good chance you’ve enjoyed our products. Avara Foods is one of the UK’s leading food businesses, supplying chicken and turkey to the country’s major supermarkets and well-known restaurants. We own and manage our entire supply chain, from farms to factory and all the way to the customer door – meaning we have careers that cover a whole range of functions. We have major processing sites across England and Wales, and an agricultural network of over 350 farms, spanning from North Yorkshire to the South Coast and Wales. A little about our Hereford site: The Hereford plant is our largest site and processes chicken products across two factory facilities, Grandstand Road and Yazor Road. Grandstand handles processing, whole bird production and portioning, with Yazor responsible for portioning and added value. Across the whole site approximately 1,500 people are employed and it processes 1.9m birds per week.
