As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to product quality across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Quality Systems Manager to join our Technical Team, based at our site in Caistor.
Purpose of the role:As the Quality Systems Manager, you will champion factory compliance and allow us to demonstrate due diligence in respect of food safety and quality.
Operating Environment:This role will be required to operate within the office and factory environment, which is a cold, food production environment.
Your key responsibilities as Quality Systems Manager will include:- Day to day management and development of the site's food safety, quality and regulatory systems.
- Controlling theinternal audit schedule and verifying completion of any corrective actions.
- Conducting internal risk assessments, audits and gap analysis ensuring accurate recording and reporting of findings.
- Managing site environmental, micro & chemical sampling programmes to maintain site compliance.
- Ensuring internal specifications and HACCP systems are maintained.
- Overall responsibility for the calibration of measurement devices used by the quality and production teams.
- Maintaining site document control systems and removal of superseded documents.
- Involvement in maintaining crisis plans for product recall / withdrawal and investigating customer complaints.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant scientific or food related qualifications (Degree desirable).
- A practical working knowledge of BRC, Red Tractor and retailer requirements.
- Experience working with major retailers, including leading audits.
- Intermediate HACCP and Food Safety qualifications as a minimum.
- Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor training.
- Basic understanding of microbiology and potential consequences to food safety and quality.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00. There will be some flexibility required during seasonal peaks.
