Quality Champion (Fixed Term contract)

About the Role

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to Operations across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Quality Champion to join our Site Technical team, based at our Wednesbury site, on a 6 month contract opportunity.

The role is site based, so you’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, part of a manufacturing operation of short shelf life products where hygiene and Technical standards are critical. As a Quality Champion you will be required to work predominantly Monday to Friday 07:00-16:00 with the flexibility to cover our Twilight shift (which runs until midnight).

What will you be doing as a Quality Champion at Avara?

The Quality Champion will drive factory standards and work with a team looking at compliance, standards and supporting Technical and Production colleagues to drive this.

What will your key responsibilities as Quality Champion include?

• Daily inspections of different areas within the factory
• Report to the Site Lead Quality Manager
• Collaborating with different departments to ensure consistent application of quality standards
• Checking accuracy of Traceability information
• Inspiring colleagues and driving the commitment to Quality
• Proactively identifying issues in the process and working to find long term solutions

What you’ll need to be successful

• Previous experience as a Quality Auditor is essential
• Significant experience in the food manufacturing industry
• Understanding of Technical regulations and processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office packages and Technical systems
• Adaptable and flexible
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
