About the Role
Are you passionate about Engineering? Looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience or qualifications in utilities and site services engineering? As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we are looking for a highly competent and motivated Site Services Engineer to join our Engineering Team, based at our Hereford site. This role operates on a 12-hour day shift pattern, following a 20-week rotating schedule. Working hours 07:00-19:00 on a rotational working pattern – including weekends.
Purpose of the role
As a Site Services Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of critical site utilities including steam, compressed air, electrical distribution, and water systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of these systems through planned maintenance, rapid response to unplanned outages, and supporting installation and project work during continuous improvement shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Carrying out planned maintenance activities on steam, compressed air, electrical, and water systems and drainage.
- Responding promptly and effectively to unplanned outages and breakdowns.
- Supporting installation and project work during continuous improvement shifts.
- Monitoring system performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborating with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and optimise system availability.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and system performance.
- Coordinating with external contractors and service providers as required.
Qualifications
Essential
- Engineering qualification L3 or above
- Experience in utilities or site services maintenance (steam, compressed air, electrical, water).
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work a 12-hour day shift on a rotating 20-week pattern.
Desirable
- Knowledge of CMMS systems
- Familiarity with compliance standards and safety regulations related to utilities.
