Avara Foods is one of the UK’s leading food businesses, supplying chicken and turkey to the country’s major supermarkets and well-known restaurants.

We own and manage our entire supply chain, from farms to factory and all the way to the customer door – meaning we have careers that cover a whole range of functions. We have major processing sites across England and Wales, and an agricultural network of over 350 farms, spanning from North Yorkshire to the South Coast and Wales.

Our advanced manufacturing site in Wednesbury, West Midlands, is our newest advanced manufacturing site, and we’ve invested around £4.7 million into state-of-the-art facilities.

Our Wednesbury site is a flagship Added Value center for Avara, which employ over 150 talented individuals at the site, who help to supply some of the UK’s largest supermarkets and popular restaurants!

About the role

Join our team as a Despatch Operative in Wednesbury!

In joining our Logistics team, you will be given the opportunity to train and develop throughout our clear progression pathways. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Warehouse experience wanting to develop further, or someone who just fancies a change in direction.

Key responsibilities

  • Scanning
  • Loading/unloading of stock
  • Stock taking

What we are looking for

  • Counterbalance or FLT licence (essential)
  • The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
  • Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
  • Experience within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided

Working hours

4o4o 05:30-18:00

Benefits

  • £12.71-£13.25 per hour (paid weekly), + an extra £2 per hour for hours worked between 18.00 and 06.00
  • Free on-site and off-site parking
  • Secure contract and guaranteed hours
