Looking for your next leadership challenge in a role that makes a real impact across our farms?

We are looking for a highly capable and motivated Turkey Area Manager to support and develop strong performance across our company, rented and grower farms within Turkey Agriculture.

Purpose of the Role

As Turkey Area Manager, you will play a key role in managing, enhancing and growing relationships across our farms, providing technical support where required and ensuring our farms and teams operate in line with Avara's values, standards and priorities.

You will help ensure production on farm is delivered to the required standards for animal welfare, food safety, biosecurity and the environment, while working closely with internal and external stakeholders to support continuous improvement across our Turkey Agriculture operation.

Your Key Responsibilities as Turkey Area Manager will include

  • Managing, enhancing and growing relationships with company, rented and grower farms, providing healthy challenge and accountability where required.
  • Acting as an ambassador for Avara's values and priorities through clear communication and strong stakeholder engagement.
  • Supporting the compliant operation of farms in close partnership with farm owners, farm teams and internal colleagues.
  • Providing and facilitating technical support, making effective use of internal and external resources.
  • Sharing meaningful commentary and insight with internal stakeholders on technical trends, compliance challenges and areas for improvement.
  • Ensuring production on farm meets the required standards for animal welfare, food safety, environmental standards and biosecurity.
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external departments to support the free flow of information and joined-up decision making.
  • Prioritising activity using data, feedback and performance insight, focusing effort where the greatest improvement is required.
  • Supporting Avara policies, procedures, health and safety standards and food safety requirements at all times.
  • Contributing to a positive learning culture by identifying development needs and supporting capability across the team where appropriate.

What We Are Looking For in a Turkey Area Manager

  • Strong poultry husbandry experience, including previous relevant farming experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of animal welfare standards, poultry housing, equipment, feed, ventilation and bird health matters.
  • Previous management experience and a genuine commitment to developing others and improving performance.
  • Knowledge of audits would be an advantage, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and build lasting, positive relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Confidence using data, feedback and operational insight to focus activity and support improvement.
  • A flexible approach, recognising that the needs of our farms may require occasional weekend, night-time or seasonal working.
  • A values-led approach, with the ability to act with integrity, protect confidentiality and uphold high standards across all areas of work.

Closing date for applications is Thursday 6th August 2026.

As part of our commitment to a fair and consistent recruitment process, all applications will be reviewed by a panel against the requirements of the role before candidates are progressed to the next stage.

This helps us ensure every application receives a balanced and objective assessment, giving everyone the best opportunity to demonstrate their suitability for the role.
