A little about our Caistor Site
Our manufacturing site in Caistor, North Lincolnshire is a further processing site in the turkey supply chain.
Producing mince, sausages, burgers and meatballs for well‑known retailers, alongside running a dedicated dark meat deboning line for chicken products.
Our Caistor site employs approximately 300 talented individuals, who help to supply some of the UK’s largest supermarkets and popular restaurants!

Production Section Manager to join our Operations team based at our Caistor site.
The role is factory‑based, so you’ll be working in a fast‑paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short‑shelf‑life products where hygiene standards are critical.
The factory operates 7 days a week, across various shifts.

What will you be doing as a Section Manager at Avara?
As a
Production Section Manager you will be accountable to the Production Managers for the operational output within your designated section to effectively manage all operations and ensure KPIs, targets and business objectives are met.
You will meet all requirements in terms of legislation & company policy, ensuring the safety of employees, equipment, infrastructure and products.
What will your key responsibilities as Production Section Manager include?
- Being responsible for the management and development of Team Leaders and colleagues within their zones.
- Leading your section on all food safety, health & safety and quality standards adherence.
- Being the section lead for customer visits and audits, ensuring effective planning, co‑ordination and delivery.
- With direction from the Production Manager, implement continuous improvement initiatives across a range of areas.
- Carrying out line side checks for potential efficiency and productivity improvements.
- Utilising allocated resources within your section. Escalate shortfalls in resource, supply chain or asset reliability when required.
- Implementing processes and procedures to ensure the effective capture of data for further analysis by senior management.
- Ensuring consistency in the application of the company’s policies and procedures.
- Developing and reviewing SOPs for designated areas.
- On request, deputise for the Area Production Manager.
- What you’ll need to be successful
- An experienced Section Manager or Team Leader who has managed teams in a similar production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience of continuous improvement in a production environment of implementing change through effective management.
- Ability to deal effectively with challenging situations.
- Proven people management skills in a diverse and demanding environment with the ability to lead and motivate the team.
- Excellent communication at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills, analytical skills.
- Experience of coaching and developing and mentoring a team to ensure they are reaching their capabilities.
