About the Role
As a
Hatchery Operative , you'll be a vital part of our Hatchery Team, helping to ensure the successful hatching and preparation of chicks for delivery to farms.
This role plays an essential part in the beginning of our supply chain and contributes directly to the success of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort chicks into the correct grades and quantities ready for farm delivery.
- Transfer eggs efficiently from storage to incubation machines and through the hatching process.
- Maintain exceptionally high hygiene standards by cleaning equipment and work areas.
- Follow strict biosecurity procedures to protect bird health and welfare.
- Monitor bird welfare and adhere to all health and safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily production targets.
What We're Looking For
- Good English and basic numeracy skills.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to work.
- A flexible and reliable attitude.
- Previous experience in a hatchery, farming, agriculture, food production or manufacturing environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.
- Full training will be provided.
