The Opportunity: Avantor seeks a replacement within our Internal Product Specialist Team, due to the celebration of an internal promotion to our Field Sales Team. Flexibility is offered; you can choose to be full-time office (Lutterworth), hybrid, or 100% remote (depending on your location). A unique position that is a blend of Customer Service, Internal Sales and Sourcing / Procurement. You will be assigned one Key Account, you will be the Customer's single point of contact for all capital equipment, an opportunity for you to harvest a solid and enjoyable relationship, securing new and repeat business. You will build supplier relationships and use your negotiation and sourcing skills to identify the best route of product demand for the customer.
The Team: Given the uniqueness of this position, you will not form part of a team who offer the same service, but you will be part of the wider Sales and Service Team, reporting to The Capital Equipment Service Manager. You will daily communicate with the Field Sales Team, Strategic Account Managers, Suppliers and the Customer.
What we're looking for:
- Graduates with one year working experience will be considered
- Education: BA/BSc or equivalent in a Science or Business discipline, desirable, not essential
- Experience: previous customer service, sales or procurement in a Business-to-Business environment or a desire and determination to work in a B2B driven environment
- Ability to learn and retain product information (training provided)
- Negotiation skills and drive to work in a targeted sales environment
- Required Languages: Fluent in written and verbal English
How you will thrive and create an impact:
- Consistently deliver high service levels, sales and margin in our capital equipment, instruments and technical servicing portfolio
- Review customer order requests and source the products from the market aligning both pricing and availability
- Create, negotiate and follow up quotation
- Collaborate with Strategic Account Manager to determine technical specifications
- Provide technical product support to customers and Avantor colleagues
- Focus on large projects consisting of multiple products and quantities to ensure best in class project support
- Coordinating to ensure the internal product codes are correct and loaded accordingly
- Support with technical specifications for tender submissions
- Support with market source equipment quotes
- Engage in supplier training to ensure technical knowledge is developed
- Monitor competitors and market trends within dedicated product portfolios and build market intelligence
- Support your manager in developing a sales forecast for your portfolio of products as and when required
- Regular communication with the local sales organisation, highlighting the performance of the product portfolio
- Participation in local sales training and meetings
