We are seeking a detail‑oriented, safety‑conscious Laboratory Technician to support our laboratory and facilities teams at our client’s site in Oxford. This role is critical to maintaining compliance, hygiene, and operational efficiency across our lab spaces, equipment, and delivery areas. You’ll work hands‑on in a dynamic environment, ensuring everything from contamination testing to inventory control runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
- Safety Compliance
- Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) procedures in line with approved SOPs.
- Waste Management & Decontamination.
- Perform contamination testing (including mycoplasma).
- Operate autoclave systems and manage waste streams.
- Coordinate steri‑cycle runs and BSC decontamination schedules.
- Oversee monthly lab cleanings and change sticky mats as required.
- Delivery Coordination
- Schedule and manage deliveries for lab supplies and equipment.
- Oversee truck staging at loading docks.
- Receive and reconcile shipments; maintain cleanliness and safety of dock and common areas.
- Waste & Recycling Management
- Coordinate trash/recycling pickup and hazardous spill response in loading areas.
- Inventory & Equipment Management
- Maintain accurate inventory and monitor lab supplies.
- Manage autoclave maintenance, and assemble/disassemble equipment and lab furniture.
- Coordinate with vendors on repair, installation, and maintenance services.
- General Maintenance Tasks
- Perform routine inspections (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, generators).
- Address daily facility requests and safely change gas/nitrogen cylinders.
- Refill ethanol/water bottles and manage lab coat cleaning program.
- Maintain operational documentation as required.
