Avantor is looking for a proactive HR Advisor to join us on a 12-month contract covering maternity leave. The successful HR Advisor will provide professional generalist HR support to a broad range of business clients which include Distribution, Production and other functions. This role will be part of a strong European and UK HR team, and act as the single point of contact covering the full range of general HR activity.
This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in the office, split between our Lutterworth and Reading locations. The remaining days will be worked from home. We ask for flexibility regarding which days are spent at each site and how time is divided between them.
We are seeking an experienced HR professional currently operating at HR Advisor or HR Business Partner level, who can already perform at either HR Advisor or HR Business Partner level. The ideal candidate would be part or fully CIPD qualified and have previously operated successfully within a matrix organisation.
The HR Advisor will be part of the wider UK and European HR team.
What we’re looking for:
- Solid experience in Human Resources, either at HR Advisor or HR Business Partner level
- A HR professional who takes ownership of supporting their client group and partners with the business to enable and support the business to deliver results
- A positive individual who has a “can-do” attitude
- Value the importance of data, and then able to analyse the data and identify the insights to potential areas for improvement
- Team Player
- Very good communication skills, both spoken and written
- Experience of working in a matrix organisation would be an advantage, but not essential
- Ability to present to groups across all areas of the organisation, including Senior Management
- Project Management and Change Management skills
- Strong Time and Priorities Management skills
- Sound knowledge of UK Employment Law
- Full UK driving license
- Fluent English, Polish or any other European language, desirable but not essential
- Collaboration tool: MS Office programs in particular Excel & Word, Workday is advantageous but not essential

- Supports and partners with People Managers to lead Avantor associates in line with the Avantor ICARE values and help People Managers to lead Avantor associates in line with HR best practice.
- Good business acumen to understand what element of the people agenda will add the most value to the client base this role supports
- Style of working in collaboration with others, with respect and including to build consensus and positive team spirit
- Potential to lead HR Projects to delivery process and policy improvement within our HR Organization.
