About the Role

Avantor is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join the UK Service team, covering a key territory in and around London. This is a field-based role focused on providing technical support across laboratory equipment, ensuring installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair activities are delivered to a high standard while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair laboratory equipment across client sites
  • Perform calibration, validation, and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose faults and resolve technical issues independently
  • Deliver a high-quality customer experience on-site
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers
  • Plan and manage service visits efficiently within the assigned territory
  • Identify opportunities to support service and product offerings

Candidate Profile

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in field service or technical support
  • Strong electronic and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working across multiple types of equipment or products
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role
  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to learn new technologies
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel across the assigned territory

Location Requirement

Candidates should ideally be based in or near the following areas:

  • Surrey
  • Buckinghamshire
  • Hertfordshire
  • Greater London

Proximity to these locations is important to ensure efficient travel and effective coverage of the customer base.
