The Role
We are seeking an Investment Associate to join our Investment Team as deal flow accelerates. The role covers the full investment lifecycle — from sourcing, analysis, and appraisals to acquisitions, financing, and disposals. You’ll work directly with senior management, external partners and institutional investors, independently running transactions and representing Avanton externally. The role will offer an excellent opportunity to grow within a highly experienced team, working on both new acquisitions and live development projects, and interacting with various external parties (solicitors, brokers, advisors, JV partners, lenders) as well as attending networking events. The role will also include active internal collaboration, especially with the Development Team and Operations Team.
You will be supporting the senior management so you should be direct, concise, approachable and have a good commercial mindset. The role is office based.
Qualifications
- Degree in real estate finance, finance or economics
- 7 years plus experience working for a property developer, ideally in a smaller or more agile organisation
- Build and maintain detailed financial models and cashflows for acquisitions and developments.
- Prepare investment memorandums and internal presentations for IC approval.
- Manage transaction processes, including due diligence and legal documentation, and have been closely involved across the entire investment process.
- Conduct detailed market research and benchmarking to support investment strategy.
- Liaise with lenders, brokers, JV partners and advisors.
- Support fundraising and investor relations initiatives.
- Understand debt structures and investment execution, monitoring, and real commercial outcomes.
Personality
- Flexibility and the ability to work in a small entrepreneurial environment
- Energetic, friendly and collaborative
- Problem-solving approach at speed
- Ability to manage multiple work streams/projects simultaneously
- Ability to work under tight deadlines independently
- Passion about the product and industry
