Avantis Education is a global EdTech company on a mission to make powerful, immersive technology simple, accessible and impactful in classrooms. Our products, including ClassVR, are used by schools across 100+ countries, helping teachers deliver more engaging, inclusive and meaningful learning experiences every day.
This is a senior engineering role at the heart of what we make. You’ll take technical ownership of how immersive educational experiences are built for ClassVR, working in Unity alongside the Head of Content, artists and educators to ship interactive apps that reach children around the world.
What you’ll be doing:
- You won’t just write code, you’ll shape how the team works. That means owning the content production pipeline, building tools that help non-engineers collaborate effectively, mentoring junior developers and setting the technical bar for everything that sits on our ClassVR headsets.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Design, implement and test maintainable, well-documented software for ClassVR headsets.
- Optimise experiences to perform reliably on mobile hardware, balancing reliability with performance constraints.
- Own the technical aspects of the content production pipeline, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
- Build tools and workflows that enable artists, designers and educators to contribute effectively without engineering support.
- Evaluate and feedback on the ClassVR SDK, contributing to its improvement from a content development perspective.
- Keep technical documentation clear, current and useful for the wider team.
