Avantis Education creates immersive learning technology used in classrooms across more than 90 countries. Our ClassVR, Eduverse and Thrive products put students inside the learning – and the content that brings those experiences to life is central to what makes them work. We are now looking for a Senior Content Editor/Writer to own the editorial and pedagogical quality of everything we produce.

This is a hands-on role at the heart of our content development pipeline. You will set and uphold the standards for our lesson plans, learning frameworks and in-experience copy, manage a pipeline of Subject Matter Experts, and work closely with our producers, Product team and 3D and development teams to ensure content integrity from brief through to publication. If you have a strong classroom background, a forensic eye for quality and a genuine passion for how great content drives learning, this role was built for you.

What you’ll do

  • Own the editorial and pedagogical standards for all customer-facing learning materials
  • Develop, write and edit lesson plans, learning outcomes and pedagogical frameworks that underpin our VR experiences and games
  • Maintain and evolve content standards and templates across the team through ongoing iteration
  • Write and review content briefs for new VR experiences and games
  • Script and structure in-experience text and instructional copy where necessary
  • Manage a pipeline of Subject Matter Experts – briefing, reviewing and quality-controlling their contributions
  • Collaborate with the Head of Content, producers, Product, and 3D and development teams throughout the production pipeline
  • Feed the content development pipeline with steers from key stakeholders, ensuring content integrity at every review gate

What you’ll bring

  • Significant experience as a KS2 classroom practitioner, ideally operating at UPS level or in a leadership role (AHT, DHT, Head of English/Maths or equivalent)
  • Experience in EdTech, digital leadership or educational content creation
  • Strong editorial skills, with a background in publishing, copywriting or content production
  • Experience managing and quality-controlling contributions from Subject Matter Experts or external contributors
  • Confidence with AI tools, including prompt writing and iterative content development
  • Excellent written communication and a meticulous approach to accuracy and consistency
  • Comfortable working across multiple workstreams and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Desirable

  • Experience in curriculum development and mapping
  • US teaching experience
  • SEND/inclusion experience

What you’ll get

  • A creative, senior role with real ownership of content quality across a globally used product suite
  • The chance to shape how students learn through immersive technology in classrooms worldwide
  • Competitive salary and benefits, reviewed regularly
  • Flexible, hybrid working
