Champion the Systems. Strengthen the Safety Culture.

The Opportunity

At AvantiGas, safety isn’t just a priority; it’s part of our culture. As the HSSEQ Coordinator, you will sit at the heart of our Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) function, ensuring our systems, data and people are connected, compliant and ready for what’s next. This is a varied and visible role where no two days will be the same. One day you might be analysing incident data and producing reports for senior stakeholders; the next you will be coaching a new starter on one of our HSSEQ systems, leading a fire drill, or supporting the team in responding to a Quality Issue. Your organisational skills, attention to detail and collaborative approach will keep the function running smoothly; and your contribution will be felt across the whole business.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Collating, processing and reporting HSSEQ data from across the UK to internal and external stakeholders within agreed timescales
  • Managing and maintaining the Visible Commitment (VC) system — leading calibration sessions and supporting end users
  • Administering the UGII EcoOnline system: managing access permissions, supporting bespoke dashboards, monitoring incident recording and resolving system issues
  • Delivering EcoOnline and VC training and coaching to new starters and line managers
  • Maintaining accurate records of all incident reports including Quality Issue Reports (QIRs) — logging, allocating actions and tracking to closure
  • Administering the Lone Worker system: allocating devices, maintaining escalation paths, reporting weekly usage and issuing safety notifications
  • Leading safety at UGI House: inductions for new starters, fire safety checks and drills, acting as Site Incident Controller, completing low-level investigations, issuing Permits to Work
  • Acting as Administrator and Document Controller for the HSSEQ pages of The Hub (SharePoint intranet) — maintaining content and keeping key documents current
  • Supporting the preparation of HSSEQ policies, presentations, Toolbox Talks, bulletins and communications
  • Monitoring the team’s shared mailbox and ensuring enquiries are directed and resolved promptly
  • Compiling and submitting quarterly statistical returns to Liquid Gas UK and supporting the completion of commercial customer supplier questionnaires.

What We’re Looking For

  • The ability to work confidently with data from multiple sources — identifying trends, drawing meaningful insights and developing clear dashboards that make complex information accessible to a range of audiences
  • Proficiency across the MS Office suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Excellent organisational skills with a methodical, detail-oriented approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate, clear reports
  • A confident team player who is proactive, self-sufficient and comfortable working on their own initiative
  • Customer-focused with a collaborative, “can-do” attitude.
  • A safety-based qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH
  • Experience within the LPG or wider energy industry
  • Familiarity with HSSEQ management systems and safety reporting processes.

The Rewards

In return for your expertise and commitment, we offer a competitive reward package including:

  • Salary dependent on experience
  • Opportunity for hybrid working — based at UGI House, Chesterfield
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Company pension scheme
  • BUPA health insurance
  • Life assurance
  • Access to our employee assistance programme
  • A supportive, values-led culture with genuine opportunities for development.
