About Avantier

Avantier Consultancy delivers complex programmes for the public sector and defence. We are Cyber Essentials Plus certified, JOSCAR-registered, a Crown Commercial Service supplier and an Armed Forces Covenant signatory. We're growing our test assurance capability and looking for an experienced Test Manager to join us in delivering high quality services to customers.

The role

You’ll be part of a team delivering independent, impartial test engineering and assurance services supporting the MOD Corsham, aligned to MOD governance and Defence Digital frameworks. This is an authority-side assurance role: rather than running delivery testing yourself, you’ll audit, assure and coordinate the testing carried out by industry partners confirming adequacy, completeness and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. It’s a senior, autonomous position with real ownership of quality and governance across the programme lifecycle.

What you’ll do

  • Provide independent assurance and objective oversight of all industry-partner testing activity
  • Review and audit test artefacts, processes and evidence against agreed acceptance criteria
  • Develop and maintain authority-side test and acceptance artefacts with SMEs and stakeholders
  • Facilitate and coordinate Test & Evaluation and Acceptance Working Groups (TEWGs/AWGs)
  • Coordinate IT Health Checks (ITHC), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and integration testing
  • Provide structured defect triage and oversight, maintaining traceable resolution paths
  • witness testing and issue independent assurance certificates underpinning delivery
  • Support ITEAP activities and the development and delivery of the project VVRM
  • Support configuration control and version management to establish known baselines
  • Keep technical teams, business representatives and partners aligned on risks and issues

You’ll need active DV clearance (UK sole national from birth), at least five years’ testing experience across infrastructure, systems or networks, strong knowledge of test governance and assurance frameworks, and Agile/DevOps and Windows experience.

We offer a competitive salary, 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, pension, and strong support for your professional development.
