OUR FIRM Carta Law is the largest AI-native law firm for private capital. Born from the combination of Avantia Law and Carta, a leading fund and fund operations platform trusted by over 40,000 funds, we exist at the intersection of legal expertise, compliance, and technology. Our lawyers and paralegals work alongside embedded AI agents, to deliver investor onboarding, transaction KYC, and high-volume legal work with a speed and consistency that traditional law firms simply can't match.
THE ROLES ON OFFER We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Compliance Analysts, Document Review Paralegals, and Funds Paralegals to join our legal team.
- Investment Compliance Analyst - Our Compliance team work like detectives to uncover any potential threats to our clients prior to the completion of a transaction. They scan counterparty documents, look for red flags and note any politically exposed persons. They examine the corporate structures of counterparties, identify UBOs, and outline potential risks in legal memos. This role is excellent for building commercial awareness.
- Document Review Paralegal - These paralegals work with documents such as non-disclosure agreements, non-reliance letters, and engagement letters. They track documents throughout their life cycle, draft first markups, communicate with counterparties, manage inboxes, and more. Senior paralegals are offered a lot of autonomy and may have the opportunity to take the lead on client accounts and lead contract negotiations.
- Funds Paralegal - These paralegals are involved in preparing initial drafts of documents (transfer agreement, consent, subscription agreement), liaising with transfer parties on process and timings, reviewing comments on transfer agreements and subscription agreements, and assisting with running the execution process and general workflow management.
Compensation And Progression Dependent on relevant experience and skills, we can offer a starting salary at £30,5000 per annum, together with exciting opportunities for professional growth and development. There are opportunities to qualify as a lawyer at Avantia through the SQE route.
