We are looking to appoint a skilled and motivated Subject Lead of Design Technology at Avanti Fields School who can combine strong classroom practice with effective middle leadership. The successful candidate will be a qualified Design Technology Teacher with a strong track record of delivering Design Technology at GCSE level.

You will lead the strategic development of the curriculum, drive high-quality teaching and learning, and raise achievement to ensure consistently strong outcomes for all pupils. This is an opportunity to shape the direction of the department, support and develop colleagues, and contribute meaningfully to whole-school priorities within a collaborative and values-led environment. You will play a key role in fostering creativity, technical confidence and academic rigour across Key Stages.

Avanti Fields School is an all-through, faith-designated (Hindu) state school which welcomed the first intake of Year 7 students in September 2018, and first intake of Nursery and Reception students in September 2022. The school is rapidly expanding and will grow year by year to a full cohort of 1,320. This is an exciting time to join the school as it continues its journey to outstanding.

Line manage, develop and support teaching and support staff within the department, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Qualified to bachelor’s degree level in relevant or allied subject.

QTS qualified.

Significant teaching experience in one or more good or outstanding schools – demonstrably delivering high standards.
