Avanti Recruitment is partnering with a specialist engineering consultancy near Newcastle to hire a Graduate .NET Software Engineer for their growing digital team. This role would suit an engineering graduate (Mechanical, Electrical, Software or similar) with a genuine passion for coding. Whether you've built tools in MATLAB, experimented with Python, or started self-learning C#, this is a brilliant opportunity to turn that passion into a full-time software career.

The company delivers modern, microservice-based solutions to engineering and manufacturing clients across the UK and Europe—often rebuilding legacy platforms from the ground up using .NET Core, Blazor, and Azure. Despite backing from a larger European consultancy group, they remain a close-knit North East-based team operating out of Hexham, with a strong mentoring culture, and zero corporate fluff.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building .NET Core applications with Blazor frontends
  • Replacing outdated tools with clean, scalable cloud-first systems
  • Working on greenfield projects for engineering clients in the UK & Europe
  • Pairing with experienced engineers and participating in code reviews, planning sessions, and sprint cycles
  • Developing software used in technically demanding, safety-critical projects for clients in sectors like nuclear, oil & gas, and renewable energy

What They’re Looking For

  • A strong academic background in Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, or similar (Maths/Physics also considered)
  • Some hands-on experience with code (C#, Python, MATLAB etc. — doesn’t have to be professional)
  • Curiosity, drive, and a genuine interest in building real-world solutions

Why Apply

  • All Graduate Engineers are enrolled in IET membership and supported toward Chartered Engineer (CEng) status within 4-5 years
  • Benefits include a 5% contributory pension, Permanent Health Insurance, and flexible hybrid working
  • Compressed workweek with every other Friday off
  • This role is 3-4 days on-site and paying up to £35,000.
