We’re looking for a strategic and driven leader to take ownership of how we manage our government partnerships, contracts, and regulatory excellence. In this high-impact role, you’ll ensure full compliance with the National Rail Contract (NRC) and other regulatory requirements, while acting as a trusted advisor across the business. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping compliance culture, influencing senior stakeholders, and safeguarding our contractual standing.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Act as deputy to the Head of Department, providing leadership when required
  • Drive compliance with NRC and regulatory obligations across the organisation
  • Embed a culture of compliance excellence through training and engagement
  • Oversee regulatory and contractual deliverables, ensuring deadlines are consistently met
  • Manage and mitigate compliance risks with robust reporting and governance
  • Lead contract mobilisation and demobilisation activities, ensuring seamless transitions
  • Act as a key point of contact for the Department for Transport (DfT) and other regulatory bodies
  • Track and close contractual obligations in line with agreed timelines

  • Proven experience in railway compliance, planning, or regulatory roles (transport or infrastructure preferred)
  • Strong understanding of industry contractual frameworks and governance processes
  • Ability to manage complex risks and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment
