Resident Site Manager, East Midlands Gateway

Circa £60,000 dependent on experience, working Monday to Friday days. The role comes with excellent benefits including pension, life assurance, private healthcare.

Overview

An international integrated systems and solutions provider working in the distribution/automated warehouse industry. They design, develop and implement automated materials handling solutions and provide full on‑site customer support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a large multidisciplinary resident team.
  • Provide operational management, ensuring that all Service Level Agreements and KPIs are attained and customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • Manage and coordinate the daily activities of the Resident Site Line managers, Resident Engineering teams & support staff, through effective planning and organisation.
  • Coach, mentor and conduct performance management reviews with site teams.
  • Take responsibility for all installation and commissioning issues, site safety and site administration.
  • Prepare and participate in method statements, risk assessments, and client user and maintenance documentation.
  • Perform engineering duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in electrical/mechanical/automation engineering.
  • Level 3 Management qualification would be ideal.
  • Health and Safety training covering COSHH, Abrasive Wheels, Lifting & Slinging, Access Equipment.
  • Working at height and rescue.

Technical & Interpersonal Skills

  • Background of working in the Logistics/Warehousing Automation Sector.
  • Proven team management experience.
  • Experience of managing staff performance including appraisals, recruitment and training plans.
  • Proven competence in H&S.
  • Experience in managing third‑party contractors.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the principles of excellent customer service.
  • Experience working on automation including pallet stacker cranes, pallet conveyor, light goods conveyor and robots.
  • Knowledge of software‑controlled logistic systems and understanding of daily operational problems in a logistics centre.
  • A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
  • Development of pre‑preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.
  • Basic financial skills for budget monitoring.
  • Good level of health and fitness and ability to work safely at heights.

Special Conditions

  • Working at height, rescue from height, climbing vertical ladders up to 40 m high.
