Purpose
Pharmacy Assistants work with the Pharmacists and Registered Pharmacy Technicians to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy.
Position Details
Position: Pharmacy Assistant
Location: Royal Drugs Inc. – Kingston
No. of Positions: 1
ATR: 4891
Type: Temporary Full Time (maternity leave coverage)
Salary: Hourly, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
- Compounding sterile preparations in compliance with procedures and company standards
- Calculate and supply clean room staff with ingredients required for compounding
- Label final containers and package orders for delivery
- Support pharmacists during the final check
- Calibrate, monitor, and maintain equipment inside and outside of the clean room
- Receive and place orders of medications, solutions, and supplies on the shelves and maintain inventory
- Organize and maintain the work area inside and outside of the clean room
Qualifications
- Completion of technical training required
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques is an asset
- Experience working in a clean room environment is an asset
- Skills: high level of attention to detail, accuracy and productivity
- Reliability, strong communication, organizational skills, customer service, initiative, teamwork, sound judgment, interpersonal skills
- Commitment to high standards
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must have computer skills
