We are seeking an experienced Pastoral and Spiritual Wellbeing Practitioner with a background in leading faith-related, spiritual, or holistic development activities within an educational setting. The ideal candidate will possess empathetic listening skills, the ability to handle sensitive issues, and a comprehensive understanding of major world religions. This position is based at Avanti House Primary School, part of the Avanti Schools Trust, located in Stanmore, North West London.
SALARY: £29,635 - £32,075 FTE / Approx. £9,480 - £10,260 (0.31989 FTE) annually
LOCATION: Stanmore, North West London (HA7)
JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent (Term Time Only)
WORKING HOURS: 15 hours per week, during term time
Job Overview: This role involves fostering the holistic development of students and staff—emotionally, spiritually, and mentally—in alignment with the school's ethos and values. Responsibilities include providing one-to-one emotional and spiritual support, facilitating reflective discussion groups, and engaging with local faith communities.
Key Duties:
- Collaborate with teaching, pastoral, and inclusion teams to enhance wellbeing and chaplaincy services
- Lead assemblies, develop spiritual and wellbeing resources, and coordinate liturgical events
- Support Collective Worship through assemblies and resource development
- Organize immersive workshops for festival days and spiritual topics
- Facilitate spiritual insight discussion groups for students, staff, and parents
- Develop social outreach initiatives for students to engage with the community
- Create emotional and spiritual wellbeing content (videos, newsletters, etc.)
- Support induction processes for new staff and students
- Provide support and guidance during times of bereavement and personal difficulties
- Assist heads of year and inclusion teams as part of the pastoral system
