About the Role
We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Sheffield. This role will focus on maintaining and improving electrical systems across a medium to heavy engineering environment and would suit a hands-on maintenance electrician with strong fault-finding abilities and practical PLC experience.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across electrical systems and manufacturing equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in a safe and timely manner
- Work on motors, drives, control panels, instrumentation and distribution systems
- Support fault finding and modifications on Siemens PLC-controlled equipment
- Assist with electrical installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- Complete maintenance documentation and update CMMS records
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures and electrical regulations
What We’re Looking For
- Time-served electrician with Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent
- Previous experience within a medium to heavy engineering or industrial environment
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery, ideally Siemens PLCs
- 18th Edition qualification preferred
- 2391 inspection and testing qualification desirable
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and good communication skills
- Ability to fit well within an established engineering team
- Control panel building experience
- Electrical installation work including tray and conduit
- Pneumatics knowledge
- HV installation experience
