About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support a range of ongoing commercial projects at our client’s Reading facility. This is a hands-on design role within a busy engineering team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality mechanical solutions and improvements to existing systems.
What You’ll Do
- Produce accurate drawings, specifications, and layouts using AutoCAD and 3D CAD tools.
- Ensure all designs meet relevant standards while maintaining buildability, practicality, and sustainability.
- Work within the design function to maintain high documentation and quality standards.
- Support the development and improvement of existing process and mechanical systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering systems.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and familiar with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or Inventor).
- Good knowledge of engineering calculations, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Confident communicator with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-focused, proactive, and able to manage multiple project tasks effectively.
