Job Title: Radiation Protection Consultant Duration : 12 Month Rolling Contract Location: Bristol – (Hybrid – 2 days on-site) Hour Rate: £75.00 – £85.00 Radiation Protection Consultant We are seeking a Radiation Protection Consultant to support a long-term, high-security engineering programme involving complex infrastructure and advanced safety systems. The project is currently in the delivery phase and requires a skilled professional to help ensure compliance with strict radiation protection and shielding requirements. This is a hybrid contract role, requiring occasional on-site presence for inspections, collaboration, and technical reviews. Requirements: * Proven experience as a Radiation Protection Engineer, Shielding Consultant, or similar * Background in nuclear, chemical, safety-critical R&D, or high-integrity engineering * Good understanding of UK radiation safety standards and compliance regimes * Minimum 2–3 years of relevant industry experience (or 1+ with strong academic/research grounding) * UK work authorisation required Desirable * Exposure to regulated or classified project environments * Experience working with safety case development, nuclear assurance, or shielding design * Familiarity with platform-based systems (e.g., aerospace, defence, heavy infrastructure) * Postgraduate degree or PhD in physics, radiation science, nuclear engineering, or related fields
