Position Overview

As Senior Mechanical Designer, you will provide expert technical direction and quality oversight at our client's secure facility. This role encompasses the development and management of sophisticated 2D and 3D designs throughout the entire product lifecycle—from initial concept to final manufacturing. Working in a highly regulated nuclear environment, you'll collaborate with specialists across multiple disciplines to establish and maintain design governance systems that ensure exceptional technical standards across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and assess advanced 2D/3D mechanical systems for specialized nuclear processing applications
  • Lead technical project advancement, solving complex design problems and enhancing engineering solutions
  • Develop methodologies compliant with stringent nuclear industry specifications and safety requirements
  • Maintain adherence to ISO standards, regulatory guidelines, and comprehensive Health & Safety protocols
  • Resolve production and installation challenges through expert technical guidance

Preferred Qualifications

  • HNC/HND in Engineering or comparable industry experience
  • Proven track record in mechanical design within nuclear or similarly regulated sectors
  • Expert-level capabilities with 2D and 3D CAD platforms for intricate mechanical systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering standards relevant to nuclear safety-critical components
