A well established UK based professional services consultancy is looking to hire an Infrastructure Support Engineer to join a critical internal technology function. This is a hands on, technically rich role supporting secure and complex environments and is an urgent requirement. Due to the nature of the systems supported, this role requires regular on site presence and eligibility for UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
THE ROLE
You will join a dedicated Infrastructure team acting as a point of escalation for complex technical issues across the business. The role focuses on maintaining, improving and securing cloud and on premises environments while delivering high quality support to internal users. This is a varied role offering exposure to:
- Azure cloud infrastructure
- Secure enterprise environments
- Automation and operational improvements
- Modern digital workplace technologies
There will be occasional on call and weekend work, so flexibility is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, support and maintain Azure cloud environments
- Deliver and support Azure Virtual Desktop, including large scale migrations
- Build Azure Virtual Desktop environments from the ground up
- Support Microsoft 365, Office 365 and Exchange
- Support virtualised environments (e.g. Horizon, Hyper V)
- Manage and maintain network and firewall infrastructure
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and security issues
- Ensure environments remain secure, reliable and up to date
- Produce clear technical documentation
- Work collaboratively with wider technology and operations teams
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Strong hands on experience supporting Azure infrastructure
- Proven Azure Virtual Desktop delivery, including large user estates
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Exchange
- Virtualisation technologies such as Horizon and Hyper V
- Network and firewall management experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Clear communication skills and ability to document solutions
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT
Due to the nature of the systems and environments supported, this role requires eligibility for UK Security Check (SC) clearance. Applicants must be able to meet SC clearance eligibility criteria, which includes requirements relating to citizenship, residency history, and criminal and financial background. Eligibility for clearance will be assessed as part of the recruitment process. Candidates who are unable to meet these requirements cannot be considered for this role.
