A leading technology and engineering consultancy based near Cambridge is looking for a Senior PCB Design Engineer to join its growing hardware development team. The company develops advanced electronic and sensing technologies used in complex applications across sectors such as defence, space, healthcare and industrial technology. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PCB design engineer who enjoys working on technically challenging, cutting-edge projects within a collaborative R&D environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in the design and development of complex electronic systems, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-performance hardware solutions.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing complex multilayer PCBs for high-performance electronic systems
- Supporting the full product development lifecycle, from concept through to production
- Collaborating with RF, electronics, firmware and mechanical engineers
- Ensuring designs meet signal integrity, power integrity and EMC requirements
- Producing design documentation, schematics and layout files
- Working with manufacturing partners to support prototype builds and production
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in PCB layout and design for complex electronic systems
- Experience with high-speed digital or RF PCB design
- Knowledge of signal integrity, EMC and power integrity considerations
- Experience using professional PCB design tools (e.g. Altium or similar)
- Understanding of electronics development and hardware integration
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Desirable Experience
- Experience with RF, radar or wireless communication systems
- Exposure to low size, weight and power (SWaP) electronic designs
- Experience supporting designs through manufacture and testing
