Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day sale and repair of silver and gold jewellery, watches and giftware.
Ensure that operating processes and procedures are maintained and continually improved providing a streamlined, customer focused service.
Promoting the Avanti brand and nurturing customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage all retail staff with the support of the Operations Manager
- Oversee the sales team to include setting KPI’s and targets
- Ensuring a high level of customer service is provided by all staff
- Manage store housekeeping and maintenance, maintaining excellent standards across the sales floor, stockroom, entrances and external areas
- Liaise with the Operations Manager to ensure training meetings/ discussions are held regularly with relevant staff
- Oversee and resolve internal and customer complaints/problems/queries
- Performance Management to include 1-2-1’s and KPI reviews on a quarterly basis and include timekeeping and sickness monitoring
- Stock evaluation and liaising with office team for future buying or stock gaps
- Delegating tasks to the relevant staff member or department
- Ensure staff purchases adhere to agreed discount scheme
- Responsible for the day-to-day health and safety of workers
- Cashing up and completing the daily takings

- Responsible for security and all sales staff are familiar with raid procedure (regularly updated)
- Securing premises to ensure the alarm is unset/engaged at opening and closing
- Preferred skills
- Well presented, immaculately groomed and well spoken
- Experience of developing business strategies and working to budgets
- Experience of leading and developing a team and promoting good working relationships
- Managing operating costs and identifying suitable efficiency improvements
- Track record of sales (hitting targets) and building client relationships with high level of customer care
- Strong communication skills, including knowledge of MS Office products
- Sales experience within the industry
- Knowledge of diamonds and coloured gems trade
- Additional Information
A flexible approach and a good sense of humour is essential to this role.
Work to agreed service level agreements, key performance indicators and targets.
You will be required to work 5 days out of 7 including weekends and bank holidays*.
In addition, to provide the best possible service to our customers additional evening and weekend working may be required, particularly at peak periods such as Christmas.
Discretionary bonus scheme based on business performance.
