Play a key role in shaping safe, engaging practical lessons. We are looking for a proactive and practical Design Technology and Food Technician to join our team at Avanti House Secondary School. With a strong focus on Design Technology, this varied role also supports Food and Art, helping to create engaging and well‑resourced learning environments. You will work closely with staff and students to bring lessons to life through careful preparation and expert support. If you enjoy problem‑solving and take pride in well‑organised spaces, this could be a great fit.
What will you do?
- Carry out preparatory work, under supervision, for practical lessons, in both Design Technology, Food Technology and Art.
- Provide practical support and guidance to staff and students, including demonstrations and safe use of specialist equipment.
- Manage stock, ordering and storage systems, ensuring resources are well‑maintained, safe and readily available.
- Maintain workshops, classrooms and prep areas to high standards, including equipment upkeep, repairs and health and safety compliance.
- Support the wider department with displays, ICT setup, risk assessments and exam preparation, including occasional out‑of‑hours support during peak periods.
