Avanti Grange Secondary School is seeking to appoint a reliable and organised Science Technician to support the delivery of practical science across our school.
Part-time and job-share
This role is also available on a part‑time basis, and applications for job‑share arrangements are welcomed.
What will you do?
- Prepare equipment and materials for lessons and maintain laboratories and preparation rooms.
- Provide practical support to the Science Department on a day‑to‑day basis.
- Carry out all technical work in accordance with CLEAPSS guidance and COSHH regulations.
- Build effective professional relationships across the school community.

What are we looking for?
- Knowledgeable in health and safety practice, COSHH regulations and CLEAPSS guidance as they apply to laboratory work.
- Accurate and methodical, with strong attention to detail.
- Able to manage a varied workload and respond calmly to changing priorities.
- A confident communicator, able to work effectively with teaching staff and pupils.
- Committed to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.
