About us and the role
Great teaching changes lives, and this is an opportunity to be part of a school where high expectations, strong relationships and a commitment to excellence sit at the heart of everything we do. This role offers the chance to make a genuine impact in the classroom, ensuring that every pupil is supported, challenged and inspired to achieve their very best. You will take full responsibility for the learning, progress and wellbeing of the pupils you teach, delivering engaging and well-planned lessons that meet the needs of all learners. With a clear understanding of how children learn, you will use assessment effectively to inform your teaching, adapt your approach and ensure that every child, regardless of background or ability can succeed. Creating a positive, respectful and purposeful classroom environment will be central to your practice, alongside building strong relationships rooted in trust and high expectations.
Beyond the classroom, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working closely with colleagues, parents and the wider school to ensure the best outcomes for pupils. You will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, engaging in professional development and sharing effective strategies with others. At every stage, you will play a key role in promoting the school’s ethos, safeguarding pupils and contributing to a vibrant, inclusive and high‑performing school community.
School visits are welcomed and encouraged, please contact the school to arrange a suitable time. Avanti Gardens is a primary school situated in Fishponds, Bristol. The school is housed in a beautiful campus, that was previously an all‑through school, and before that part of Bristol University, which means it has many facilities that primary schools don’t, like a full‑size auditorium and sports hall. Our school is a non‑faith, community school that embraces inclusion and diversity. The school is an inspiring place to be that places value on pupil wellbeing.
