In this varied and hands-on role, you will oversee premises maintenance, coordinate cleaning teams and contractors, support site security and ensure that all facilities meet the required health and safety standards. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school site, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting maintenance projects that enhance our facilities.

Working closely with the School Principal, Business Support Manager, Area Site Manager and wider premises team, you will help ensure that resources are used effectively and that the school's operational needs are met. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong facilities management skills, good communication and organisational abilities, and a commitment to creating a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment where our school community can thrive.

What will you do?

  • Maintain the school's premises, grounds and car park in a clean, tidy and safe condition, including litter collection, sweeping, weed control, emptying external bins and responding to adverse weather conditions through snow clearance and gritting as required.
  • Receive, sort, distribute and dispatch incoming goods and mail, ensuring deliveries are directed to the appropriate departments, excluding specialist equipment and sensitive materials managed by the relevant departments.
  • Set up rooms, furniture and equipment for scheduled activities, meetings and school events, including open evenings and weekend events as required.
  • Monitor the school car park at designated intervals, ensuring that parking is restricted to authorised users in accordance with the school's procedures.
  • Open and close the school premises as required, ensuring buildings are secure, access arrangements are managed appropriately, and all necessary equipment and facilities are switched on or off in accordance with school procedures.

Why should you apply?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Multi Academy Trust with schools based in London, the midlands and the South West of England. All Avanti schools provide pupils with an outstanding education rooted in the inclusive and distinctive Avanti Schools ethos of educational excellence, character development, and spiritual insight.

  • Eligible for NUS Card and CSSC membership
  • Well-being programs (retreats, yoga, wellness apps)
